Technical Details & Integration
Hemingway Editor Classic runs entirely in the browser and does not require authentication or an API key. The readability analysis is based on the Automated Readability Index (ARI) and related heuristics applied to sentence length, word complexity, voice, and adverb usage.
Hemingway Editor Plus adds server-side AI processing for:
- Grammar correction — Inline fixes with one-click acceptance
- Tone adjustment — Rewrite suggestions that shift the register of selected text
- AI Proofreading — Comprehensive pass over the full document
