WeWeb is a visual development platform that outputs standard Vue.js Single Page Applications (SPAs), giving developers full ownership and portability of their generated code. The platform supports custom coded component imports, direct connections to external databases (Airtable, Xano, Supabase), and any external REST API — without data replication. Applications are deployed on a global AWS CDN by default, or can be exported and self-hosted on-premise or any cloud provider. The architecture enforces separation of concerns, keeping data secure on client servers while maintaining SOC2, HIPAA, and GDPR compliance.
