Phind is built on a combination of its own fine-tuned Phind-CodeLlama models (based on Meta's Code Llama architecture) and optionally GPT-4, offering users a choice of underlying inference engine. It performs real-time web retrieval, ranking and synthesizing content from developer resources like Stack Overflow, GitHub, and official documentation into a single coherent response with source attribution. Phind supports a 32K token context window on its Phind Model, enabling long multi-turn conversations and large code-paste analysis. A VS Code extension brings the same search-and-chat experience directly into the editor, and a pair programmer mode enables multi-file, agentic coding workflows.
