Connected Papers is a web-based research tool that builds visual graphs of academic papers by leveraging the Semantic Scholar Open Research Corpus. Given a seed paper, it analyzes citation and co-citation relationships to generate a similarity-weighted graph, where nodes represent papers and edges encode relatedness based on shared references rather than direct citations alone. The layout algorithm clusters papers by similarity, helping researchers identify central works, research lineages, and parallel threads in a field. No API is publicly available; the tool is accessed entirely through the browser.
